How to choose the right size of your hoop
Measure once, buy once: the two numbers that decide which lyra fits you, and when to go bigger.

A hoop that is too small cramps every pose above the bar; one that is too big is hard to control. Two measurements settle it.
Measure
Stand barefoot against a wall and measure from the floor to the top of your hip bone. That number in centimetres, minus five, is your starting inner diameter. Someone 165 cm tall usually lands at 85 to 90 cm.
The sizing table
| Height | Inner diameter |
|---|---|
| Under 155 cm | 80 cm |
| 155 – 165 cm | 85 cm |
| 165 – 175 cm | 90 cm |
| 175 – 185 cm | 95 cm |
| Over 185 cm | 100 cm |
When to go bigger
If you mostly train doubles, or you prefer long lines and splits inside the hoop, add five centimetres. Studios buying for mixed classes do well with 90 and 95.
Tube and tabs
25 mm tube is the standard; 32 mm is kinder on the hands for beginners. One tab for spinning, two tabs for stability in teaching. Powder coating is worth the small extra cost.
